Mission/Purpose

The South College Department of Business Administration is committed to providing students with practical programs of study and stimulating classroom experiences that lead to the development of business and analytical skills necessary for graduates to succeed in today’s ever-changing business environment.

Departmental/Program Objectives

Skills needed to gain employment and/or advancement in their respective fields of student that are emphasized include:

  1. Effective use of current business technology.
  2. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  3. Effective collaboration and analysis of information for use in decision-making.
  4. Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.

The Bachelor of Business Administration program prepares students to enter the continually evolving world of business, government, and industry. Building on a foundation of general education in areas such as oral and written communication, mathematical reasoning, and social science, the business foundation and upper division courses expose students to the realms of accounting, management, finance, economics, and marketing. Students choosing the accounting concentration will be exposed to specialized areas of accounting.
