Student Loan Period |
Books - 2 weeks Journals - 1 week Videos - 3 days (limit 3 items at once) |
Reference materials
Materials from one campus can be delivered to the other campus by placing a request with a library staff member. Materials checked out can be returned to either campus.
Holds and Renewals: Students may place a hold on books, journals and videos in the library collection. Speak to a library staff member to place a book, journal, or video on hold.
Students may renew items for one more loan period unless the items have been put on reserve by another library user.
Overdue Materials: Overdue notices for library materials will be mailed to students’ homes one week after the due date of the materials.
Daily fines are not charged on overdue materials.
The final due date for library materials will be on the last day of class each quarter. All materials must be returned to the library by the last day of finals. Students will be billed for the cost of any overdue materials that have not been returned by the last day of classes.
Please note: Students who do not return or pay to replace library materials charged out to them will have their grades or transcripts held until the items are returned or replaced.
***Students cannot graduate with any outstanding overdue or unpaid materials on their records.***
Please be kind to your fellow students and your librarians by returning your materials on time!
Meeting Room Reservations
Students may reserve library meeting rooms for up to two hours at either campus for group study by filling out a Meeting Room Reservation Request located on the Library Moodle site. Meeting room reservations must be made a minimum of one day ahead of the desired reservation date. Reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Confirmed reservations may be viewed on the Computer Lab and Meeting Room Calendar on the Library Moodle site. If the students are unable for any reason to keep the reservation made, or will be late to come to the library, they need to contact the library staff at the library where the reservation is being held as soon as possible. If the students do not contact the library staff and do not arrive by thirty minutes after the time of the reservation, the reservation will be cancelled and the room will be made available to others.
Computer Policy
The Library Department adheres to the South College Computer Code of Ethics. Any use of computer workstations in the Library will be governed by this institutional policy. Users violating the policy will be referred to the Dean of Student Affairs for disciplinary procedures.
